The Larry H. Miller Group includes a variety of local businesses with interests ranging from automobiles to professional sports. The portfolio of web sites includes:

• The Larry H Miller Auto Group includes 60 auto dealerships IN 7 states.
• Larry H Miller Collision is a chain of auto body shops.
• The The Utah Jazz is an NBA Basketball Franchise.
• The Salt Lake Bees is a minor league Baseball Team.
• Fanzz is a store offering team branded clothing, including merchandise for the Jazz, the Salt Lake Real, the Bees and most major NBA, NFL, NCAAA, MLB and NASCAR teams (profile).
• Vivint Arena is the home of the Jazz. This mult-iuse arena was built in 1991 (taking just under 16 months to complete). The building has a 743,000 square foot base and 7.6 acre pedestrian plaza. The arena can seat 22,000 people. In 2002, the Delta Center housed the figure skating events.
• The Megaplex Theatres at the Gateway, Thanksgiving Point and in Sandy house state of the art theatres and iMax Theatres.
• KJZZ is an independent television station that broadcasts on Channel 14.
• Jordan Commons is a mixed use facility in Sandy featuring office space, restaurants, shopping and a Megaplex Theatre.
• Prestige Financial provides credit for automobiles.
• Saxton Home is an advertising agency.

Larry H. Miller was born on April 26, 1944. His early career included playing fast pitch softball for the Salt Lake and Denver Metro leagues along with stints in construction and selling auto parts. He married Karen Gail Saxon, on March 25, 1965.

In 1970, Mr. Miller moved to Denver to work as the parts manager at two Toyota dealers. Larry H. Miller formed a partnership with his uncle William Reid Horne in 1979 and opened Larry H. Miller Toyota in Murray. Please note the year, Larry H. Miller started selling imported economy cars right before the oil crisis. Great timing!

The Larry H. Miller Group continued to buy auto dealerships until it became one of the largest auto dealerships in the nation.

On the philanthropy side, Larry H. Miller has contributed to efforts including the Miller Business Center at the SLCC Campus in Sandy.

Corporate Events

• 1979 Opened first dealership in Murray.
• 1985: Bought a 50% stake in the Utah Jazz to keep team from leaving SLC.
• 1985: Opens Fanzz to sell team apparel.
• 1991: Opened the Delta Center.
• 2002: Rebuilt the arena for the 2002 Olympics.
• 2006: LHM invested $100M to build the Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele after years of losses, the closed the facility in 2015 (ref)
• 2009: The company founded died from complications related to type 2 diabetes.
• 2009: LHM sells its Subaru dealership to Mark Miller (The Miller families aren't related)
