Utah Black Hat Society

The Utah Black Hat Society holds an annual high tea at the Grand America Hotel. It is a popular event for the media as the patrons dress in their favorite pointy black hats and robes in the lead up to Halloween.

The 2011 event took place on October 1. The video below shows reporting on the 2010 event. The video below that is from Salem, Ma talking about the conical black hat and the formation of the black hat society.

This second video talks about the whole black hat idea which appears to have gone national since the 1980s.
