| Description | 
The Gateway Plaza is a central component in the revitalization of Salt Lake's west side. The Plaza is located just west of the Delta Station on Trax. The plaza includes a large number of boutique shops and restaurants. Surrounding the Gateway, you will find a variety of clubs and businesses. The Gateway is near several facilities for the homeless. As such the West Side now provides people with a safe cultural meeting ground for all of the components of our society from the hip and wealthy to the down trodden.
One of the things I like most about the Gateway is that it is an outdoor plaza. Salt Lake really has a beautiful temperate climate. We get snow, but not the severe cold of Wyoming. We are in a high mountain desert, and few of our summer days are unpleasantly hot. Unlike the other malls in Salt Lake, the Gateway really takes advantage of this wonderful climate.
The Gateway Plaza is a collection of stores, restaurants, condos and apartments. The Plaza includes popular attractions such at the Clark Planetarium which sports a Digital Dome and IMAX Theater. These sites have shows throughout the year. The Plaza is occasional a center piece in a parade or fun run. Lacking a major event venue, the event list at the Gateway tends to be much shorter than the action that takes place in this corner of Salt Lake.
