Cottonwood Fine Kitchen Furniture
Cottonwood Fine Kitchen Furniture is a Draper based mill that creates custom cabinets sold by a network of dealerships throughout the US.
The company was founded in 1980 by Brent Dial and Steve Arneson as Cottonwood Cabinets.
I admit the name gave me a double take as cabinets made of cottonwood would not last long. I suspect that the business name came from the majestic Cottonwood canyons that provide access to the world class skiing in the Wasatch.
The site includes a portfolio of fine custom designed kitchens. However, the portfolio does not mention the type of wood used.
But the site has me thinking of the challenges of making furniture from cottonwood trees. Perhaps if someone soaked the wood in enough epoxy, they could create a counter top that would last for more than a year.
