Sport Court
Sport Court is a Salt Lake based business that designs basketball courts and sports courts. The site has images of different styles of courts including courts for the NBA, NCAA, FIBA, USTA, FIVB, USA Volleyball and US Youth Futsal.
The video is a documentary about building a champion sports court.
The company was acquired by a French firm called Gerflor S.A.S..
Sport Court History
The press release for the merger indicates that Sports Court was founded in 1892. What appears to have happened is that a Salt Lake Firm purchased an older firm.
Here is what I pieced together from various time lines. Including Sport Courts History.
- 1974: Sport Court was founded in Seattle making backyard sport courts.
- 1976: Sport Court moved to Salt Lake City.
- 1989: Sport Court introduces modular sports flooring and roller hockey flooring.
- 1993: develops flooring for NCAA Volleyball and teams up with NBA.
- 2004: The Riverside Company invested in Sport Court and arranges a merger.
- 2005: Sport Court acquired Connor Sports Flooring to create Connor Sport Court

Connor was one of the fist companies to enter the sports flooring industry
- 1892: Connor Sport was founded.
- 1894: Connor built a band saw mill in Stratford, Mi.
- 1914: Connor installed its first basketball court.
- 1968: Connor changed its name to Connor Forest Industries.
- 2014: Gerflor acquired Sport Court from Riverside.
