Sam Wellers Bookstore
Established in 1929, Sam Weller's Bookstore offers three floors of store space that overflows with new, used and rare books.
Sam Weller's and Main Street suffered a serious down turn in the 1970s when Salt Lake City made the ill fated decision to locate two malls across the street from eachother at the top of Main. Sam Weller's extensive selection of hard to find books was able to draw enough patronage to eke out a living.
With the construction of Trax, the Gallivan Center and concerted efforts to decentralize downtown, Sam Wellers is back in the thick of things.
Mr. Wellers passed away in June 2009 and passed control to the store to a second generation of bookstore owners.
