Mormonism and Evolution

Greg Kofford Books publish LDS related books. Their recent title Mormonism and Evolution explores the history of the authorative statements by officials of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in regard to Mormonism.

The Mormon view of Evolution is quite interesting as the religion came to life in the early stages of the industrial revolution. Darwin (1809-1882) was contemporary to Joseph Smith (1805-1844). While Joseph Smith died before the publication of the Origins of a Species, the founders of the LDS faith were emersed in many of the same questions of the day that led to Darwin's work.
